In a first, the BCCI invited the families of Suryakumar and Bharat to attend the Test cap presentation event inside the stadium. Rahul Dravid, the head coach, congratulated both India players and shook hands with their families.
Remember that on Day 3 of the first Test between India and New Zealand in Kanpur in 2021, Bharat took over the gloves for India in place of Bengal gloveman Wriddhiman Saha due to the Bengal gloveman’s neck stiffness.
